My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kryptonite is back available for adoption as sadly his one of his adopters has found out she is allergic. He is a stunning puppy, a majority black tricolor with cafe au lait brown and Picasso-esque splotches of Catahoula spotted blue, with bichromal eyes to boot. This very dapper and uniquely marked puppy is an approximate Catahoula-Pit Bull mix, but with a slightly ovoid shape to his head, and a lack of stop in his head structure, we believe Bull Terrier is involved also.

Krypton came into our rescue when his mom was pulled heavily pregnant from a Houston, TX shelter and placed in foster, where she whelped her pups in a home surrounded by a loving family. All this litter has known is normalcy, raised around kids and other dogs, save for the transport to bring the puppies here to Rhode Island ;)

A pup who wears his heart on his sleeves and goes by best intentions while having to deal with some inner demons, Krypton made immense progress in foster care and continues to thrive. He is sweet, curious and very cue responsive, so will be a pleasure to train. Puppies are all promise and potential, and they will amount to the sum total of the efforts from the people who raise them.

His litter has been rather scrappy amongst themselves and Kryptonite developed resource guarding behaviors against them at a precocious age, and is one of several who has launched into full blown fights with his littermates. He is doing very well fostered with unrelated dogs, but as this litter has shown resource-oriented behaviors and the capacity to go into full blown fight mode within the litter, we do prefer he be placed as a single dog. He meets other dogs with caution, and in realizing they mean him no harm wants to be their best buddy and in the longterm has excellent potential to be dog social and to be able to go to doggie places, but due to his litter he is imprinted to have to fight for what's his and it is best he be spared from that in the home he lives in. He is being fostered alongside a confident cat, and does ok, and overall is people centric and prefers to hang out with two legged friends. He is figuring things out, what is good, what is bad, and deserves to know the world is a friendly and safe place and that with his people ensuring his safety that he does not need to carry that burden.

Stunning puppy with a heart of gold who will make you feel loved and adored every waking second of the day, he belongs with people who match with an energetic breed, can put up with puppy antics, and who look forward to puppy raising as an adventure, with effort rewarded by rich experience, and helping their puppy to be the best he can be.

Applications are available by contacting Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com. Adoptions to CT, NH and RI only; we unfortunately cannot adopt to Massachusetts residents. His adoption fee is $450.
