My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

This poor baby is HW+ and will need treatment

Henzley's soldier had to be deployed, and he asked for his dog to be rehomed.  The original caretaker kept him for almost 3 years, but her health turned, and she asked us to take over.

Henzly is an amazing little dog.  well adjusted, well vetted, and well loved. he gets along with other dogs, kids, cats, you name it.

Sadly, Henzly's heartworm test came back positive.

He has received HW treatment.

****** Update from Foster 3/26/2021 *********

Henzley (aka Henny Who) is finishing up his heartworm treatment and doing amazing!! He is ready to find his forever home.

Henny is as sweet as sweet can be and loves attention.  His favorite activity is napping on the couch right next to his person.  Henny is a snuggle bug.  He is very, very chill.  He's not big on toys and playing.  He does like to go outside and explore the yard.  He might even occassionaly chase a squirell, but other than that, he is happy getting snuggles, love and attention.  He loves to give kisses, and get his belly and ears scratched.

He isn't a big fan of the kennel, but does really well in a playyard setup at night or when we aren't home during the day.

He does well with other dogs, but isn't a fan of them jumping on him or trying to play, so he would do really well with another chill dog or as an only dog.  He also does well with cats, and likes to hide behind his person if they venture too close.

Henzley is house trained, but isn't very vocal about asking to go out, which might lead to the occasional accident.  We keep him on a pretty good routine of frequent outside trips and haven't had any problems.

He does great on a leash and is wonderful around new people and new situations.  He behaves great on rides, but does get a bit car sick.

He is very treat/food motivated and likes to learn new things.  He knows some basic commands.
