Juna spent nearly a year being overlooked in the shelter before scoring a foster home. She was a volunteer favorite! While at the shelter, one of her volunteer friends said, ``Juna is one of the angel girls at the shelter. She is so sweet and happy. She waits for her people, ever so gently. I always feel happy when we are in a play yard and I get to see her running around and bouncing with a toy or a rope. She knows how to entertain herself and be carefree. Juna is one of the undiscovered pups; she is the kind of dog that you wonder, why is this sweet, angelic dog still here??`
Juna`s foster says, `Juna is sweet and loving dog. Once she bonds with you, she is very aware of your mood and will comfort you when you`re upset. She loves going on walks, drives and being outdoors. She`s a gentle baby :) She`s an adorable girl who loves Indian food. She loves humans and loves to take over my bed. She`s very independent and will always ask you for anything she needs. She has the cutest underbite and the cutest eyes.`

AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
