My story

Tavey adores being the center of attention and is good with adults and older children.  The ideal home for Tavey is one where she is the only dog with no cats. Tavey is a sweet dog who is housebroken, doggy door trained, and crate trained.  She just wants to please her human friends.  She loves to hang out with her family and knows basic commands.  She requires regular grooming as she has a very long and thick coat.  Tavey enjoys low energy and short walks.  She needs an experienced dog owner who is patient, kind, and can control her sometimes overzealous behavior.

She has an adoption fee of $250 that helps the rescue cover medical costs. Tavey is spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped.  To meet Tavey or maybe just learn a bit more about her please fill out an application* at   https://helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/ .

*  Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adoption is a lifetime commitment. After an application and a verbal interview is completed and it is determined that the adoption is a compatible match, a contract is signed with specific guidelines. A nominal fee (usually between $175-$300) to help off-set medical, feeding and Rescue costs is collected. The contract states that at any time the adoption does not work out, the dog is to be returned to our Rescue group for alternate placement. The dog is not to be 'given away' or 'rehomed' or 'taken to the pound'. If there are other dogs in the home, they must meet prior to adoption. All family members in the household have to agree to the adoption. No dog is to be adopted as a 'gift'. No out of state adoptions.
