My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Uncle Sam!!! Sam is believed to be a 7-8 year (at most) of age, black Lab mix. Sam needs a home with other dogs he can follow and continue to learn from. A home with older children is okay. He absolutely is a no with cats or small pets/critters. He won't chase any outdoors critter ever but does not trust them at all in the home. He avoids people at first out of fear but once he gains confidence and you earn his trust, he is amazing and becomes the most loyal buddy. Sam loves the outdoors but is also a huge couch potato. Sam loves daily walks, hikes, swimming, car rides, boat rides, cycling and anything he can tag along with his humans. He is all about his humans. Sam is crate and house trained. Not hyper but still active as his humans would be. He is not a barker nor much of a watch dog but he will alert you if something outdoors is out of the norm. A fenced in yard is preferred. He is not a fence jumper and his off leash skills are pretty awesome too. Sam loves all dogs regardless of size and temperament. He can be very playful with dogs too. Sam was heartworm positive and since had treatment and tested NEGATIVE.
Sam is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped, neutered, and on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention.

We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important.
