24K Heart - DISCARDED AT THE BEGINNING OF HER GOLDEN YEARS

MAY 30, 2014:

Goldie was brought to animal control as a stray.  She had a microchip that matched the name of the person who turned her in, so it seems like she wasn't a stray after all—she just wasn’t wanted anymore!  Poor Goldie had been discarded at the beginning of her “golden years!”  How very sad for her!!!

Goldie is in foster care & doing very well now.  She is an extremely affectionate girl who has excellent house manners & is totally house trained!  She tested negative for heartworms & Lyme disease & seems to be healthy.  That said, she is currently being treated for an ear infection & she may be suffering from some hearing loss too.  She seems to have led a sedentary lifestyle recently & may have spent a lot of time in a crate, so we are building up her stamina with a lot of short walks each day.

A very gentle soul, she has the prettiest & most appreciative eyes!  Goldie needs someone who is home most of the time because she cries when left home alone.  I guess she just doesn’t want to be left behind AGAIN!

She is GOOD WITH RESPECTFUL KIDS but is not good around other dogs as she does not like sharing her caregiver.  She tolerated 3 hours of grooming this week and it turned her into a very beautiful dog. Whoever adopts Goldie will get an older, calmer dog with a 24K heart, who still has a lot of love to give!   For more information on Goldie please contact her foster care mom Marge at 434 945-0945.
