Leo was on his last days at an open-door shelter before Famous Fido stepped in and saved his life. The shelter had contacted over 280 rescues to see if they could make space for Leo without any luck. His situation pulled at our heartstrings. He was desperate! Leo is an adorable, sweet, fun-loving dog, but he can be protective over his domain. Leo had an incident when a stranger entered his home and his former family surrendered him thereafter. Leo is not an aggressive dog, but he was put in an unfortunate, unpredictable and unsafe situation. We would love to find Leo a home that will protect him from such situations! He is a very cuddly boy and would make a great family member! We are ideally hoping to find an adult-only home for Leo, where he can be the only animal. Leo is incredibly smart, makes and holds fantastic eye contact for treats and is very food motivated. He'd thrive in an agility / training course with his great energy and attention to prizes!

Famous Fido was founded by Gloria Lissner who has been independently rescuing dogs from the death rows of kill shelters since 1975. She officially opened Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance in July 2010. All our dogs recieve the necessary vet care and treatment is never refused. Famous Fido has developed a full merchandise line, starting with our all natural dog treats to support our rescue efforts. Our products are available for purchase on our website. The mission of FFRAA is to form an alliance with similar organizations to increase community awareness, public consciences and create a No Kill Nation.
