My story

Meet Lucinda! Lucinda is usually an extremely loving and affectionate companion to adults and kids 15+! She was in a foster home with two 6-year-old children who were there part-time, and she typically tried to avoid them. She does okay with laid-back cats who understand personal space, but would not do well in a home with a dog. Lucinda has a little pandemic weight to shed (don't we all), so would need a home that will keep her food measured and encourage her to exercise. Lucinda likes to decide how much attention she gets, but when she is done with affection, she can be a bit of a love biter. One favorite activity is she enjoys sitting on laps to get a lot of pets and trap her human in one spot. She loves to be brushed, just not on her hip area. Lucinda would make a perfect lap cat for someone who is home a lot, and just wants a quiet, loyal companion. If Lucinda sounds like the cat for you, please fill out an application on our website at: AHeinz57.com

More about this rescue

AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport, Inc. is a 501(c)3, non-profit animal welfare organization based in Adel, Iowa. In addition to caring for our local strays, we are working to bridge the gap between traditional animal shelters and no-kill rescues in 2 different ways: 1) By providing free transportation for dogs and cats from traditional shelters to no-kill rescues all over the Midwest and Canada. We also provide overnight rest stops for our furry travelers and temporary housing for those whose time has run out at the shelters, but have to wait for a foster spot to open up in one of the rescues; 2) By pulling as many dogs out of traditional shelters that are on death row and placing them in foster homes and forever homes thru our organization.
