Zues is a big, strong and very playful dog! His favorite toy is his rope toy, and he loves running around the play yard with his toys and people. Zues is also very smart and eager to learn. He's house trained and knows several basic commands. For yummy treats he will show off all of his tricks! He needs an adopter who will continue his training in the home, and one who's savvy with a dog his size and energy level. Zues went into a home for a bit but he wasn't getting the structure he needed to gain confidence with new people, and became protective of the home with visitors. Because of this, we recommend a home who's prepared to give Zues the structure, training, and exercise that he needs to thrive.
Zues needs a home where he can be the only animal, and don't worry - he's plenty to love! :) This guy is all about fun, and he's ready to be a loyal companion to someone loyal to him.
Additionally, Zues is heartworm positive and currently undergoing treatment. He can continue treatment in a foster or foster-to-adopt home, and our staff is knowledgable on the subject and can give you all the information you need when adopting. His heartworm treatment is sponsored by kind members of our community, and won't be an additional cost to the adopter. But, the adopter will need to see him through treatment continuing his medications and vet visits to ensure he makes his way back to a happy and healthy heart.
If you're someone who fits the bill for Zues, we hope to hear from you! He may require a particular kind of home, but we know that his special someone is out there. Could it be you?
Come meet Zues today!
