My story

Rocky is a 7 year old male mixed breed. He weighs 64 pounds. Rocky came from a home in which he was mostly (maybe exclusively) an outdoor dog. When he first arrived he was understandably very nervous about being in the shelter. It took him a while to get comfortable with the staff. He is now affectionate with staff members he is most familiar with. Because of his history we do not know how he will behave in a home but we predict that he will need an adjustment period before he begins to feel comfortable. We do not have any information about how Rocky might behave with dogs or cats. We would definitely recommend a meet and greet with all resident dogs. We always recommend caution when introducing a dog to resident cats. Rocky would prefer a household without children. Rocky was also heartworm positive when she arrived at our shelter. Since his intake he has completed his heartworm treatment. His adoption does include an additional $100 fee to help to cover the cost of treatment. Please call for more information or to make an appointment to meet Rocky. (Updated 3/1/21).
