My story

Hi my name is Shirley. I am about 8.5 years old and I came to Almost Home when I could not get along with the younger cat in my house. I am a super sweet and laid back cat and I would do best in a quiet home. A perfect retirement buddy. I just don't seem to like other cats that much so I would either need a home with no other cats or with a cat just like me, content to keep to themselves. I am up to date on all of my vaccinations and I tested negative for FIV and FELV. I am microchipped and spayed. Do you have room for me in your home?

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of North Central Iowa is a non-profit, no-kill shelter serving North Central Iowa. We stand for humane treatment of animals and spaying and neutering pets. We rely heavily on volunteers to help us with the daily cleaning, socialization, and walking the dogs. We also need volunteers to help with our fundraising events. If you would like to help stop in and fill out a volunteer application. Due to time contraints we are not able to keep all adoptable pets online at all times. It's a lot of work, and the most important thing is to take care of the animal's physical needs!! If you want to see more of our adoptable pets come visit them in person. You can learn more about us, visit our website www.almosthomeiowa.org
