My story

***IN FOSTER***

Felicitations to fabulous Fenriz!

Fenriz travelled a long road to find his way to EHS. After spending time living on the streets of Toronto, Fenriz has a past that only he and his two pals (since adopted) will ever know about. What we do know is that their time as strays left them fearful and distrustful of people. But, thanks to the care he received from his foster parent, our smart Fenriz has become an outgoing cat that seeks attention! With time, patience, and care, Fenriz has learned that life as an indoor cat is a good life.

Once a cat that used his sleek black coat to his advantage to hide in shadows, closets, and dark corners, Fenriz now loves pets and will often flop on his side, exposing his belly! Like many cats, Fenriz isn't a fan of being approached too quickly. Slow and steady will win (the race to) this boy's heart! Getting down on his level (and we mean, get down low by crouching or sitting), is less threatening for him and you'll be rewarded with a head bump of approval to pet him.

Fenriz has FIV, which is a virus that weakens the immune system of a cat. It is not transmittable to humans or other species. Cats who have FIV can live just as long as other cats if they are properly cared for, with a good diet, indoor home, loving family, and vet checkups twice a year. Fenriz does not require medication.

Being with Fenriz will be quite the life-changing journey-for you and him! When you bring him home, it's likely that there will be an adjustment period as he gets acquainted with his new family and surroundings. Fenriz will take the lead, but he will need a steady and patient adopter, in a quieter home, to help him truly trust people and accept the love he deserves. Currently, he gets along with the resident cat in his foster home, so he may do well in a home with a feline-friendly cat who can help Fenriz trust and adjust. We aren't sure how he would behave with small children or other pets.

Do you have a shadowy corner just perfect for a cat pretending to be a shadow? Then Fenriz is the boy for you! Send in your application to bring him home!
--------------------
The adoption fee for a single cat at EHS is $175. Take home an adult feline friend for your kitty and the adoption fee for the pair is $300! For kittens under six months of age, the adoption fee is $200...Or double your cuteness quotient and adopt two wee furrballs for $350! If you mix and match (kitten plus cat), the adoption fee is $300. Each of our cats is spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, snap tested for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption. Kittens are not spayed or neutered until 5 months of age, but the cost of spay/neuter will be covered as part of the adoption.
