My story

Hi, Benjamin here!
It's been over 2 years since I arrived at the Center, making me the longest shelter resident at the moment. I've gotten comfortable in my routine with all my human companion friends here, but I still dream of finding my forever home! I don't ask for much, just to sleep in a warm bed, play fetch with my new family, and celebrate my 10th birthday.
Can you help make my dreams come true? I'm a friendly guy, but I think I would do best in a quiet home as the only pet and without children. And thanks to our generous friends at Doll 10 Beauty, my adoption fees are already covered! Plus, another generous donor is covering my dog training classes for me and my new owner which will help me transition into my new home and be the best I can be for my new family.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1869, there are many firsts in our history- the first humane animal shelter, first low cost veterinary clinic and first animal ambulance service to name a few.
We are a full-service, all-access 501 (c) (3) animal welfare organization offering humane education, cruelty investigations, sheltering and adoptions, a veterinary clinic and hospital surgeries by appointment.

We will seek out rescue for special needs animals or those who are overwhelmed by the shelter environment.
