My story

Turk is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate to a good, loving, forever home.

Turk and his siblings were born under our care. Their mother Pearl was surrendered by her owner, who allowed Pearl to get pregnant, waited too long before she tried to get her fixed, and then wanted to get rid of her before she had the puppies. Pearl is a terrier mix and the father(s) are unknown, Pearl's DNA test came back as a mixture of 14 different breeds, with only 20% American Staffordshire Terrier.

Turk has been in our rescue since he was born. He is now over a year old and he and his brother Moby are still waiting for their forever homes. Turk was one of the larger pups in the litter and he now weighs around 60 pounds. Turk is a very good boy. He is sweet and gentle, loves to snuggle, and gives kisses. He likes toys, treats, the wading pool, and playing chase with other dogs. He is crate trained and will go in his crate when told to do so. He appears to be fully house trained, although he will still use the puppy pads if he cannot get out when he needs to. Turk minds fairly well but could use additional obedience training. Turk must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and would like a secure, fenced yard to run and play.

Turk has been in rescue for way too long, so he is very timid of strangers, and needs lots of additional socialization. We are hoping that some kind and gentle person will adopt Turk and give him the loving home he so deserves.

Turk is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He is negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Turk has a $500.00 adoption fee including ground transport to Strasburg VA or Hagerstown MD. He is being fostered in Texas and will not be sent north until after he is adopted. More about this rescue

We are an army of one trying to save some of the many homeless and unwanted dogs in the area where we live. There are too many wonderful unwanted dogs in the south and not enough good homes for all of them. We adopt and transport dogs to loving forever homes in the northeast to save them from euthanasia or other terrible fates. We are a reputable rescue and REFERENCES are AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST
