My story

Pistol is being fostered in Pikeville, Tennessee. Please, fill out his application and a volunteer will contact you very soon.

Pistol is a one year old Louisiana Catahoula leopard dog. Pistol is a very sweet and loyal dog that just needs a little time to warm up to guest that visit your home. He does NOT try to bite the guest, but he will act nervous.  Guess what, we already see the fearful behavior begin to DISAPPEAR!  He's a fun-loving puppy that probably was not socialized at a young age, but we have seen training transform dogs like Pistol. Pistol is enrolled in our Rescue and Rehab program, and he's making amazing progress with his training.  While he's behaving and showing good manners, we still want to make sure his new family follows the training he's already started.

He is very energetic and would love a family that actively takes walks or hikes, or has a fenced-in backyard. He would love a canine brother or sister, and he is fine with cats.
Pistol needs a family who doesn't mind a active puppy, and someone who is patient and understanding with him. Pistol is very intelligent and would love a family who is willing to continue his training! We are providing his new adopters with free dog training to help with transitioning him smoothly.

HOPE and CHR is helping Pistol find a forever home in the area Pikeville, Tennessee area. His application is at Disregard any distance policy messages and continue to fill out the application. Thank you! HOPE and CHR

More about this rescue

Caring Hearts Rescue is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization based in Fairfax Virginia. Our volunteers rescue toy breed dogs from desperate situations including neglect, puppy mill rescue, owner surrender and euthanasia by animal shelters due to overpopulation. All of our rescued dogs stay in safe foster homes while they await their "forever home." Our rescued babies are examined and given inoculations and spayed or neutered before placement. We search for families that understand the responsibility of being a Guardian to these little guys and consider them members of the family.
