My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Grace

Grace is truly a big cuddly teddy bear simply looking for a home and family of her own, a family who will love her unconditionally and give her the love and attention she so deserves.

Grace is believed to be a Shepherd Mix, about 2 years old and 77 lbs. She is fairly new to our program and we are getting to know her. She greatly enjoys the company of people and is wonderful with children too. She is ok with other dogs but definitely does not like other dogs in her face. A lower energy senior would be ideal. Slow introduction is important, as it is for introducing any two dogs. Grace would do very well as an only dog. Certainly she deserves to be the center of attention and receive all the love and care lacking in her past.

An ideal home for Grace is with a family with Shepherd experience. Or at a minimum, with large dog experience, given Grace’s size. Grace is very smart as is typical of Shepherds. And is very eager to please. She’s a strong girl and requires a family that understands the need to channel her intelligence and strength in a positive manner. She’s super sweet, responsive, and committed to her person. Grace is overall a gentle giant.

Grace is not a dog-park dog…..too much stimulation! In addition, she’d likely do best in a neighborhood which does not have a huge dog population, so she can enjoy daily walks without distraction (she is working on her leash manners). Grace would love a secure yard of her own, where she could lounge in the sun and enjoy her surroundings.

Grace is fully vetted, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm tested and on year-round heartworm preventative, spayed and microchipped. Grace is housebroken.
