My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little Lady might also be called Finest Fetcher on the Planet. She is extremely talented in the game and LOVES LOVES LOVES to PLAY! If you don't happen to have a ball handy, do not worry, she will find something else and do you the courtesy of bringing it to you to throw for her! In fact, this (endearing?) quality is what set her on her journey to our program. Her original owners were of sedentary nature and were flummoxed by her continual play mode, so they surrendered her to the shelter in Yreka, CA. Her toy drive is exactly what we look for in our search dog training, so we scooped her up.

Alas, she was ultimately not cut out for the work we do, as she did not enjoy our physical working environment (rubble piles and such) and showed some reactivity towards other dogs.

Lady is extremely lithe, agile, energetic, athletic and fit. She NEEDS to do things (hiking, running, playing...) She would be an amazing sport dog partner or would do well with a very active and engaging pet home partner. She is sweet and can be affectionate, is able to walk nicely on leash and is super fun to play with. If you have a ball in your hand (no matter who you are...) you are her bestie!

She is a herding breed mix and she has those instincts, so she might try to herd small children or toddlers. She has a wee timid streak, so she can be slightly shy and sensitive until she gains her footing with you. She also can be reactive with other dogs, so would NOT be a good candidate as a companion for another dog.

This Lady is seeking a LTR with a serious funster. She will make you laugh every day as long as you hold up your end of the bargain: throwing the ball!

Would you like to play?

Lady is 1 year and 8 months old, weighs 35 pounds, is spayed and up to date on all vaccinations.
