My story

*************************************************************************************************************************************************************This sweet SPRITE has a congenital heart condition which does not require any treatment at this time but which will need to be monitored.****************************************************************************************************************************************************************IN FOSTER***Mystical entity!? Must be a Sprite!Actually, Sprite is a lovely, young feline who arrived in our care after living in a multi-cat environment. Very shy, as most mythical creatures tend to be, our sweet-faced Sprite is a gentle spirit who allows pets.Quite fearful when she first arrived, Sprite warmed up to her Foster family very quickly and has become very comfortable around them. She's quite playful and affectionate, seeking attention and affection with head bonks. When she's not playing with stick toys, other objects, or stalking imaginary foes, she loves to stretch out and lay on their bed next to them. Sprite loves to just lay down and retire for the night. Sprite would do well with a covered litter box, as she seems to be intent on excavating a wee fairy den in her litterbox, digging enought that a portion often ends up outside of it. And, like all cautious wee folk, Sprite tries to hide her presence by disguising all evidence. So, after she's done eating what she wants of her wet food, she makes that "litter burying" motion around her bowl. She does that until her foster removes the bowl and the smell goes away.Sprite has a ventricular septal defect (VSD) as well as mild tricuspid regurgitation. This is a congenital heart condition which does not currently require treatment, but which will need to be monitored. This ethereal beauty is ready for her new family! Being from a multi-cat environment does give her experience with roommates, so a home with a friendly feline might help her adjust and gain confidence. For now, we couldn't say whether she might be open to the idea of sharing her home with a friendly dog or other animals.Sprite will need patience and support from her human roommates, too, so if you are willing to transform your home into a fairy sanctuary for this mythical little kitty, contact EHS today!--------------------The adoption fee for a single cat at EHS is $175. Take home an adult feline friend for your kitty and the adoption fee for the pair is $300! For kittens under six months of age, the adoption fee is $200...Or double your cuteness quotient and adopt two wee furrballs for $350! If you mix and match (kitten plus cat), the adoption fee is $300. Each of our cats is spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, snap tested for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption. Kittens are not spayed or neutered until 5 months of age, but the cost of spay/neuter will be covered as part of the adoption.--------------------Interested in adopting Sprite? It's easy! Just click "Adopt a Cat" on the EHS website (etobicokehumanesociety.com) and fill out our "Cat Adoption Form". An EHS representative will be pleased to help guide you through our contactless adoption procedure.
