My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When Katrina first arrived she would allow petting while she was still in a cage, and was more fearful than aggressive, But since she was released out into the population, unfortunately we haven't been able to pet her again. We don’t know much about her background before she came to the Goathouse but Kartina now has a permanent safe place to call home.

APPROX DOB: 11/1/2012

If interested in adopting from the Goathouse Refuge, please plan to take the following steps required in our adoption process:

1. Come for a Visit: No appointment necessary: just drop by during our normal visiting hours of noon - 3 PM. We're open seven days a week, iincluding holidays, though if visiting during the week we ask that you call our office in advance at (919) 542-6815 and confirm availability of our staff.

2. Complete our online application: Visit our website (click link above of go to www.goathouserefuge.org under the 'adopt' tab).

3. Home Visit: All adoption applications will be reviewed by the refuge staff, and if the applicant seems to be a good fit for the cat(s) of interest, the refuge will contact the interested party to set up a home visit. Only after a representative of the refuge conducts a home visit then consider continuing with the adoption process.

More about this rescue

Siglinda Scarpa is a potter and a sculpter who owns 3 acres of fenced-in property in which she houses up to 258 homeless cats. The Refuge is a sanctuary for these cats, who never have to leave, but if they are adoptable, the cats are posted on our website and taken to adoption events in the community. The more cats that we find homes for, the more cats we can rescue.
