My story

Estimated birth date: 1/1/18

Personality: Inquisitive, Friendly toward humans, Energetic

Favorite treats: Craisins for eating & Wood sticks for chewing!

Favorite toys and activities: Margo loves to hang out on her cool tiles when in the cage and zoom around the room when out!

Potty trained: No

This animal daily routine: Margo gets 4+ hours of free roam starting around 5pm. Margo really loves being out so it is important to have an hour or so after the minimum 4 hour mark is met to wait for her to return to the cage on her own.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): Margo was previously bonded and unfortunately began fighting with her cage mate when one of them began not feeling well. Margo will need another chinchilla of the same gender in her adoptive home.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: None

Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? Has not been exposed to children.

Health concerns: None

Behavioral concerns: Margo is in our trust training program for her general shyness. Learn more about our trust training methods at https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/trust-training Margo does not like to be held, but is happy to interact with you on her terms. Spending quiet time seated on the floor with a book or a laptop will lead to her coming up to check you out throughout playtime and possibly sitting on, or walking, over your lap/legs.

Other notes: She is an energetic troublemaker. (so make sure her free roam space is secure), but is consequently a joy to observe and get attention from. She is also a dust bath hog!

Margo came to MNPPR when her owner was unable to continue care.

Due to our rescue being foster based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Margo’s foster parent prefers to meet at the Eden Prairie PetSmart - 11200 Prairie Lakes Dr, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

Our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/process

Fee: Margo's adoption is $70

Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

We absolutely DO NOT SHIP ANIMALS! Please do not ask.
