My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

He is the happiest dog I think I ever met even after 4 months in a cone during amputation recovery and all throughout Heartworm treatment. He gets along with all the dogs onsite, but if you have another dog he will do better with a calmer smaller dog. Taller than him does proprose a challenge to him. As a tripod, he does require some extra special care like joint supplements, antislip area rugs, soft bedding, reduced jumping ramp or steps for beds and taller vehicles. But don't let all this fool you, he is Rhinoceros tuff! Be prepared to have a 60-pound bowling ball hit you in the chest when it's lap time. He is a lover and a kisser!!! I am pretty smitten on him after being here over 3 years and passed over and over because he is people selective. This dog is too powerful and extremely active for the average person. Please do not apply if you have physical disability, children under 16 or a renter. On the average you will be gone less than 4 hours at any one time and have verifiable veterinarian reference. Be a good home that is willing to keep us updated. You preferably will have Pit Bull experience. Be prepared to explain the difference in barrier aggression, fear aggression and vicious dog during an interview. You also must know your towns BSL laws. We will check. You can fill out an adoption application online on our website. Apply at GreenerdaysAR.rescuegroups.org

More about this rescue

After seven years of mentoring other rescues and keeping our feet grounded GDAR became an official 501(c)3 rescue on May 12th, 2015. GDAR takes in homeless, abandoned and owner surrender animals as space permits. We take pride in caring for the animals and only have a limited number available at any one time. All the animals are brought back to a healthy state, fully vetted, spayed or neutered, put on heartworm prevention and microchipped before adoption. We rely strictly on donations from the public and grants from private sources.
