Clancy was turned into the Hayward Shelter as a stray. The family that found him and planned on keeping him, changed their minds when a child living in the home was nipped. Being a young puppy in need of socialization, he proved too hyper, too much “stranger danger” and a little snappy to qualify for adoption, so the shelter called Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs to take him into foster care.

Clancy quickly bonded with the foster humans in the home. There was some initial barking, but after a couple finger sniffs, then licks he was good to go - kisses all around.

He needs to develop some manners, and skills training. He isn’t yet leash trained, but prefers to go pee and poop outside. He needs to go to a home with another young, playful, friendly dog that will teach Clancy some dog-on-dog manners. He also needs more exposure to strangers so that there is less barking when meeting new people.

We are looking for a stable home with other dogs (Clancy does okay with cats and is afraid of rabbits), with experienced adopters that can continue developing his social skills. Because of his barking, he would not be a good dog in an apartment setting. He needs a house with enclosed back yard.
