Vanity was initially found as a stray and impounded at a rural kill shelter.
She was in terrible shape, emaciated and very under socialized. She was pulled by a rescue but due to the lack of experienced staff and volunteers they couldn't handle this big girl and reached out to us for help.
After meeting this gentle Giant our hearts were beating for her and we took her into our care.
She has been in a 8 week training course with our trainer and behaviorist Carlos Mendez with K9Xpress and has been doing amazing.
While we were working with her we came to the conclusion that she was not only under socialized but also that there must have been someone in her life prior who was not very nice and abusive to her.
Vanity is building her confidence and is getting educated in obedience training.
She is an amazing and very loyal girl. She would need a home with an experienced owner who can reinforce continuously the training she has learned.
Children are fine teenage age just because of her size.
If all you owned before was a small dog, please do not apply! She is also not a dog for a first time dog owner. NO CATS!
Our trainer doesn't see any concerns with her living with another dog as log as the other dog is not dominant and the new dog parent knows how to properly run a pack.
Someone physically strong would be a big plus since she knows how to use her weight.
Vanity deserves a chance of a real life in a real home. When I first met her and she walked up to me and gently nudged me and kissed me in the face, the LOVE this dog has to give is huge!!!!!

The meets and greets are either held in Lawrenceville on our property or during a home visit.

I everybody seems to be a good match, the adoption papers will be signed, the adoption fee is due and the pet can leave with you

We are a group of 3 rescuers who dedicate their time and passion to safe unwanted animals
The reason why I'm doing this is because there are way too many animals suffering and dieing daily in shelters and not enough people who can or want to offer help.
It is heartbreaking to see these poor souls wishing for nothing but a loving home.
