My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are interested in GEORGE or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here
Please email the completed application to andrea.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached.

GEORGE is the happiest guy you will ever meet. He is sweet, cuddly, intelligent and just plain silly. Your face might actually hurt from smiling so much when you are in his presence. Having fun and being the life of the party are two of his favorite past times. He also loves belly rubs, playing with toys, snuggling on the couch, and soaking up affection in general. He shares his foster home with 2 smaller dogs and gets along fantastically with everyone. He happily greets everyone he meets and is an overall joy to be around. He rides perfectly in the car and is happy and confident in new situations. This makes him the perfect sidekick for all of life’s adventures. GEORGE has never had an accident in his foster home and is well behaved in his crate when his foster family has to leave the house. He will be a fantastic, loyal companion for his future forever family. If you love smooshy faces, endless adoration, and all things dog, GEORGE is the boy to make your dreams come true!

GEORGE is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations.
His $340 adoption fee includes his interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to middle TN, after he is officially adopted.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport.

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
