My story

Meet Porter! He is a male Australian Cattle Dog mix around 5 years old and roughly 60lbs.

Porter is energetic but walks well on a leash. He has some training, but will need to work on basic manners. Porter doesn’t seem to mind other dogs, but will bark to let you know he’s aware of them. He is more of a dependent dog that likes his space and would probably prefer to be the only pet. Porter is a dog that minds his own business .
Cat tested at the kennel and he was interested but did not try to chase.

Porter would love a home outside of the city with a fenced yard to run around in. He loves to chase tennis balls and will even throw them for himself! Since he can be jumpy, he needs a home with kids over 10 years old.

Porter is neutered, UTD on shots, microchipped, and recently had a dental cleaning. His adoption fee is $500.

More about this rescue

Forever Home Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We receive dogs from owner surrenders and overcrowded shelters. All of the dogs are housed in private, loving foster homes or a kennel in the greater Seattle area. We assess their behaviors and health and help them relax during their transition to a forever home. The dogs remain in foster care or in our kenneling facility until they are adopted. All of the dogs visit our vet for a health screening, are spayed or neutered, microchipped and are current on routine vaccinations. Forever home dog rescue is not a shelter and thus you cannot see the dogs without an appointment. We need foster homes! Thinking about adopting a dog, but not sure yet about which breed or if you're ready for the long-term commitment? Consider becoming a foster parent. A foster dog placement can be anywhere from two weeks to several months. We provide any dog supplies you may need and cover all necessary medical costs for your foster dog. You provide the love and attention and bring the dogs to adoption events at least twice per month. Interested? Send us an email at fhdrwa@gmail.com and we'll send you a foster application. It's lots of fun and you will meet lots of dogs and other people who love dogs.
