NOTE: We do not adopt our fosters to anyone further then a 1 hr drive from Albany, NY.
Ella and Dash (previously named Ashanti and Mumu) are an adorable mother-son pair. They spend most of their time together, exploring the house, chirping at the birds at the birdfeeder or napping in a sunny window. They prefer cuddling each other to cuddling their humans, but tolerate a little gentle hugging when the humans impose.
These two are true sweethearts, deeply in love with each other and with life. Ella doesn't walk, she struts with her tail high in the air, like a queen waving at her admiring fans. Dash, true to name, is always running to find a new and exciting adventure. He could and would play all day if someone kept waving a toy at him. They are both good with cat-savvy, calm dogs and could be alright with another mellow cat if given a patient introduction.
If you think you have the home for them please call AnimaLovers at 518-348-3903 x1!

Ella & Dash, a Albany Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Albany, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Albany.
Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albany paves the way for another one to be saved.
