Rye's physical appearance can be deceiving. He weighs over 70 pounds and has a head the size of a cannon ball. But Rye is a gentle giant. When Rye first came to Safe Haven, he would crawl on his belly along the walls of the kennel when a human was present. But no matter how fearful he was, Rye never showed any signs of aggression.
Rye is not the same dog now. Once he knows you, he rolls on his back for a tummy rub.
Rye walks well on lead and loves to go in the car. He is still shy, but he is open to new experiences. Ask Kori at Max's Pet Supply in Gardnerville. Rye likes to go there for his bath. He's seen a cat or two there and is curious, but not aggressive .
