My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org***

This large and in charge gal is Tuffy!  When we got her in we all were in shock as to how big of cat she was and knew she needed to slim down a bit.  While she has lost a little weight, sadly Tuffy's favorite thing isn't exercise but lounging (but who are we to judge right???). Tuffy also likes to act well....tough!  But she's really not!  We wouldn't put her with small children that can't read cat body language but trust us she tells you in no uncertain terms and with advance notice when she wants you to stop petting her.  She does however love to have her butt spanked!  Again...no judgement here!!!!  While you pet her butt, she makes these little chirps and licks the air....who knows (insert shoulder shrug).  She is front paw declawed, spayed,  FeLV/FIV negative and microchipped and a 2013 model so she has mileage left but she's well broken in too.  If you are a lover of the calico-tude and think this largess super model of a cat might be just what you need to add a little humor and companionship to your days then send in that application!  As always, our adoption fees are free will to approved applicants.

Go meet their pets

Check out all of our pets online at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org or send in an application to meet a specific pet! Once our shelter is open for operation stop in during our open hours to visit with a fuzzy friend in person.

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
