My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update - 7/7: Sadly, yesterday Hope left us. She never got to the point health-wise to be able to withstand HW treatment, and developed congestive heart failure due to advanced HW disease. There was nothing more we could do for her, so she crossed in arms that loved her. Run free sweet Hope, and may you find peace at the bridge that was denied you for so long here on earth.

Please, PLEASE make sure all your pets are on HW prevention. Hope's suffering and untimely death could have easily been prevented for about $80 a year.

Hi, my name is Hope, and boy do I have a story to tell you!

I am a 4 year old female white GSD. So far, my life has consisted of being outdoors on a chain, and having lots and lots of puppies. When I was rescued, my ears were raw and bleeding from flies chewing on them, I hadn't had any shots, and I also have heartworm disease. It hasn't been an easy life, but I hear that's all about to change!

I get along great with other dogs, and I love kids! They're fun to play with! I'm currently a little scared and shy, but who wouldn't be! I don't really know what to expect or what's going to happen to me next. But if you give me a little bit of time, I'll warm right up to you. All I really want is for someone to love me.

They tell me I'm going to receive treatment for the heartworms, and once that's over I'll feel a lot better. I'm going to be spayed, so I won't have to worry about raising any more babies. I'm also going to have some tests to find out what the mass on my tummy is. We hope it's just an umbilical hernia, but we'll know for sure soon. So it really does sound like things are looking up!

Hope must go to an indoor home where he will be an important part of the family. We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21. Our adoption fee is $200.

Note: We do not have a shelter location. Our dogs are kept in foster homes as part of a family, to help prepare them for transition into their forever homes. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please contact us by clicking on the email address to your right. We will be glad to make arrangements for a meeting.
