My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Scraggles, the tennis ball fetch champion of the world! My favorite stunt is a backflip while catching the ball midair and hitting a perfect landing. I am a scruffy, almost 5 year-old Labrador / Patterdale Terrier mix who weighs 50lbs. I need a home with a yard, even just a small yard, so we can play fetch together. I walk great on a leash and enjoy rolling in the grass for belly rubs. I love treats and am incredibly smart so you can teach me many things. I have never been to an agility course, but any athletic activity is right up my alley. Even though I'm athletic, I am a good balance of calm but playful. I am potty trained and keep my kennel very clean. I prefer being friends with female dogs and just need a little time to get to know them. If you want to meet me and play some ball together, please complete an application at abandonedpetrescue.orgTo meet this adoptable pet, please fill out an adoption application at www.abandonedpetrescue.org and a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment.

More about this shelter

Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing and sheltering abandoned and abused cats and dogs with the goal of finding them new homes. APR's adoption center has about 150 cats and 30 dogs, all of which receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.

APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
