Hi all you amazing Aussie lovers out there!
My name is RANGER & I will be up for adoption soon through ASF. Not to brag, but I am amazing too! I am a hunk of Love I've been told, but I am also kind of a nervous nelly. I am stock full of energy at 8 years old (yes, still) & can play & perform for you from sun up till sun down!
I am a gorgeous tri-color, male mini Aussie that weighs in at 32 lbs. I am highly skilled & trained in many different areas & would love to show you the many tricks I've learned. I am very good in agility as well, so watch out, I run fast & can fetch you a ball in less than 2.2 seconds. I adore activity of any kind as long as its with my human.
I don't get along well with young children, because quite frankly, they annoy me. I'm not a biter, nor do I have a mean bone in my body, I just play a little too rough. Same goes with other dogs, cats, animals of any sort. I get along fine with other dogs, with a proper introduction, but I have really never been well socialized with other animals, so I can become reactive. Dogs my size or smaller are my preference. My reactivity exhibits as barking a lot.
Which brings me to the "room for improvement" category.
I know my basic commands, but it appears that I forget them at times. Probably because they were never reinforced throughout my upbringing. I will need continual reinforcement on basic mannerism commands probably throughout forever. So, in a nutshell, yep, I lack manners. You'll just need to guide me & reinforce what behaviors are acceptable for you & I should be perfect.
I AM NOT a "leash free" or "off leash" companion & will never be. I will take off after anything I see fit in a split second. I can possibly scale a 6 foot fence if I wanted to in order to satisfy my curiosity of what's on the other side; that's my agility training perk. So really though, I am the best companion ever!
I am crate trained, I don't destroy things, I'm house trained & believe it or not, I DO listen. A little on the "selective hearing" side, but I do adore my human to the moon & back. I love to cuddle, adore being with my human on car rides & I do settle down with a bit of coaxing.
