Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We got Ernie at twelve weeks old, and he is the sweetest, most loving dog...but ONLY with his own family! He is very patient with our children and has never shown any aggression towards them. As they got older, and their neighborhood friends started showing up to play, he began to bark incessantly and became extremely anxious. This anxiety began to spread to all visitors or "outsiders." We love him dearly, but we are at a point now in our lives where our children need to be able to have their friends in the house without us having the fear of someone getting bitten. Note: he has not bitten anyone as of yet.
Ernie participated in six sessions of professional training with some success. It is clear that he is not a social dog with anyone outside of his family, but we do think with more training, he can learn to tolerate strangers. Unfortunately, we don't have the time to invest in the ongoing practice he needs.
He will be very happy in a home with adults who don't get many visitors.
