My story

Hi, my name is Merry Mistlepaws (aka Myiah). I have a Christmas name because I was adopted as a puppy last Christmas. However, what I thought was my furr-ever home was not. But it wasn't any fault of mine. My adopter wasn't able to keep me.

I’m almost 2 years old and a juicy nugget, weighing in at over 70 pounds. I live in a foster home with a sweet old lady and a Chiweenie dog, so don’t let my size scare you off. I can be a formidable presence at the door when a stranger knocks! Now you know why the UPS man has brown pants!

The reality is that I’m afraid, and so I bark and act scary to keep strangers away. My initial scariness has kept most adopters away, unfortunately.

My perfect home would be one with my people, where there aren’t new people coming in and out of the house. I can walk on the leash, but I’d prefer a home where I could lounge in my fenced backyard. And while I love my Chiweenie foster brother, I am picky about my dog friends mostly because I’m a scaredy cat in my heart and head.

The first step in adopting or meeting any of our dogs is to fill out an adoption application on https://angelsrescue.org/
Your application will be assigned to a volunteer on our adoption team who will contact you to discuss it. Please allow us at least 3 business days to contact you. We require a meet and greet with your current dogs (if applicable) and all family members (if possible) and a home check. Please note: Puppies under 4 months are not currently available for adoption outside the state of Georgia.
