My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Available for adoption in Myrtle Beach, SC
Hi, my name is Roper. I am a healthy, 5 year old, 53 pound, neutered, purebred double merle Australian Shepherd with all my shots. They say I am 'legally blind' but don't feel sorry for me. I'm a happy boy.

My day starts when I hear my 'Mom' (foster mom) say 'Where's my Roper?' She knows that I am in 'My Space' (humans call it a crate), but it is my safe space and I get delicious treats just to walk into 'My Space'. I am happy when I hear the rolling glass sound, then I go down 3 steps to the smell of trees. I can go right or left to avoid those four legged things that 'Mom' sits on. I love the grassy place where I can pee and poop where ever I want. There is only one thing that bothers me - it's called a shepherd's hook. Now I AM A SHEPHERD but it bumps into me when I least expect it - it's sneaky sooo I pee on it. Then 'Mom' will call my name & clap her hands. I run, hop and bow when I find her - then I get rubbed all over. I like that game. I also like going for a walk or having 'company' because that's when humans, of all sizes, love me, rub me and even kiss me. I don't know what they look like but I love them all. Then we spend a lot of time 'relaxing', when I get 'foot massages' - a 'foot' rubs me all over my body. This is what my 'Mom' says about me. She says, 'I am the most loveable foster dog she had ever had, that I am an 'easy keeper' (that's a horse term she used to use). She says, 'I don't require a lot of activity, but I do require a defined area because I am so confident that I might explore where it is not safe for me.' She says , 'I do a very good job every day - my job is to keep my 'Mom' loved and happy.' So that's what makes me a trusting, confident happy dog. Love to all, Roper
