Henderson is very shy but he did have a genetic issue with his paws so he needed to be front declawed to alleviate his pain. He came to us when A concerned mail worker contacted FOCA when they found a Monroe County residence with an overwhelming number of cats. Our volunteers surveyed the area and then reached out to the property owner so we could give the cats a better life. There are 33 cats we rescued from a single location downtown with some kitties who are very friendly and others semi feral and feral. They include Hermes, Hickory, Hunk, Harlo, Horace, Hathorne, Hawk, Hale, Harvey, Huck; Hairy, Henderson, Hadley, Hendrix, Habanero, Houston, Havana, Honor, Howie, Henry, Holt, Hudson, Hayzel, Hattie, Haleigh, Billy, Tiny Tot, Emily, Smoke, Storm, Sunshine, Maddie, Tiger Sox and Amelia.
Friendly cats will be placed into our adoption program while the more feral felines will be a part of our barn cats program. You can learn more about our rescue on our website friendsofcompanionanimal.org or by visiting the shelter during our open hours which are Wednesday to Saturday noon to 5 PM.
