Buddy is a Queensland red heeler mix. 2-3 years old. About 45 lbs. May have some labrador. He was rescued from an abusive situation. He needs patience as he learns to trust people; but he seems to be a good boy. He's still shy but coming along very nicely. From his brief experience in a home since coming here, it seems he is dominant over male dogs- he should be an only dog or see if he would do better with a female dog. It was just in the home; he is ok in the play yard. He also needed a lot of work on the leash when on walks. He's learning- he walks nicely at our rescue, though he was been harder to handle in the home environment.
He lets our volunteers give him a physical check, and pet him. He's learning to trust again, and doing it at a fast pace. He's keenly intelligent. And isn't he about the most handsome lad you've ever seen.
The photos are of his second time in the play yard, so we kept the leash on to reduce stress. And a brief video after all photos.
