Benny is an almost 3 year old Kelpie mix who weighs approx. 55 lbs. He joined BAARK in May 2021 after being impounded as part of a hoarding situation that resulted in a court case. Once the court case was discharged, Benny made his way to Illinois and received treatment for Heartworm. Benny is now Heartworm negative and ready to find his forever home.
Benny is visually impaired and likely sees only shadows. This doesn’t stop him! He has been an eager learner in his foster home and is working with a trainer on leash skills and good manners when encountering other dogs on walks.
He easily learned the layout of his foster home including stairs and is a good match with the other dog in his foster home who is laid back and his same approximate size.
Benny is a smart, friendly boy. He has good house manners and would benefit from a fenced yard. Due to Benny’s size and visual impairment, we are seeking a home with older children and / or all adults. We hope that a prospective applicant would be willing to come to a training session with Benny as it is amazing to see what an eager learner he is. Benny is best paired with a laid back dog, similar in size.
Benny is fully vetted, up-to-date on all vaccinations, neutered and microchipped.
