My story

This first thing you notice about Smokey Joe is his soulful eyes. This adorable boy has an impeccable memory and bonds greatly with his people. Smokey Joe never forgets people, even if it's been a while since he last saw them. His devotion towards his people is unmatched and heartwarming. Smokey Joe has been at ARF for more than five years. The reason being is his wariness of strangers. Through our incredible trainer and dedicated staff, Smokey Joe has worked very hard to become the best boy he can be. Potential adopters would need to meet him at least three times before taking him home. During these visits, Smokey Joe will start to bond, and potential adopters will learn about his tools for success. Smokey can be a bit selective about his canine companions, so a meet and greet would be a must, and he would do best in an adult only home. We believe that once Smokey Joe gets used to a new routine and new friends, he will be a faithful companion and best friend.
