Lola is a very large 84 lb lab mix who needs to be an only pet. She's been spayed and is up-to-date on shots. She is on a medication to help with occasional incontinence when she rests. Lola is housebroken but needs her breaks at least 4 to 5 hours apart to maintain this. She has high anxiety that is controlled with plenty of exercise, so would probably do best in a home with a fenced yard to properly allow for this need. Lola tends to resource guard so having other furry friends is not ideal. She wants her humans all to herself. Her size and anxiety makes having small children around a bit more complicated so we prefer older children only. Slow and proper introductions to new people is required with Lola. First initial greetings are scary to her, but after proper intros, she gives all the loves! She even smiles! Lola needs a special someone who can work with her at her pace. She needs someone patient and willing to set boundaries and hold her to them...to learn her quirks and not be intimidated, but open to creating a special bond. You can see more of her and her personality on Facebook using the link #lolaneedsahome2. June 27, 2022, 6:23 pm

You are required to sign a legally binding contact on your new pet. As part of that contract, should you no longer be able to keep the animal for any reason, the animal MUST be surrendered back to SAAP. This is to ensure the animal is placed back in foster care while we secure a new approved home for the animal. However, we always try to ensure that the initial placement is best for the pet and your family. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption.

More about this rescue
We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets.
We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are micro-chipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you?
We need your help to continue our mission. We rely solely on donations and fundraisers. All donations are tax-deductible and 100% of your donation will go towards the rescue, care, and medical needs of the animals.
If you need info on a cat or kitten please contact 859-391-2944
For all other questions please call our main line: 859-391-1234
