My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! My name is Coco, and I ended up with ESRA because my human parents were getting a divorce and I couldn't stay with them anymore. I was very sad to leave my family, but I was happy when the nice people from ESRA came to rescue me!

I am looking for a new family. I love being in the company of my foster parents as well as anybody else. I don't jump up on people; rather, I just like to hang around with everyone and be loved. Sure, I follow my foster parents and sister around the house, but hey--I'm cute, and I miss the attention my old family gave me! I'm not a dominant dog, so don't worry about me getting into fights with anyone. I love all dogs I meet. My foster parents describe me as a big, soft teddy bear! Did I mention that I give the sweetest kisses?

I love to have fun and play with my humans and other dogs. Do you like to play fetch? I sure do! I am so much fun to be around. I want to be your family's faithful companion. My favorite toys are stuffed animals. I love to chew on them and try to get the stuffing out before my foster sister comes and steals it away. See, I let other dogs take my toys away from me because I like everyone and I have a great personality.

I understand that my foster parents can’t always be around, and that's not a problem; I'm completely housetrained! In my former home, I even got to use a doggy door. My foster parents do not crate me when they go to work because they know that I am a good boy and can patiently wait until they get home. My foster home includes another dog. We get along very well. My foster parents haven't had me around cats, but I do like to chase squirrels, rabbits, and chipmunks. I lived with children in my former home, too--more people to snuggle with! If you want to go on a walk, let me know, because I love to be outside enjoying the fresh air. My foster parents use a gentle lead on me so that I don't pull them around the neighborhood. They have told me I have to work on my walking etiquette before they will use only a leash.

I guess I'm lucky because my foster parents make sure that I get enough exercise. The vet said I need to lose seven pounds and then I will be at my healthy weight. My foster parents are also treating my ears for infections. My ears used to be painful, but now they are starting to feel better. I am up to date on my shots and am neutered.

If you want a playmate who will love you forever, then I’m your dog. I promise never to leave your side. I'm not a high-maintenance guy; I'm just looking for a family who wants a loving companion.

Love,
Coco
