Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This big goofy guy with the unique eye (his right eye is blue on the bottom) is Copper and he is around 2 years old and weighs just over 60 pounds. Our best guess as to his breed is a Chocolate Lab and Hound mix as he came to us originally as a stray.
Copper was adopted but his new home had 3 young children and they were just too much for Cooper so they regrettably had to bring him back.
Copper is a young and energetic boy who loves to romp and play in the yard! His favorite toys are squeaky toys and tennis balls and playing fetch! His previous adopters said he was very well mannered while they were eating and would just sit beside the table.
Copper is super treat motivated and will do just about anything for any kind of food! He knows how to sit, laydown and shake. He is a little bit of a jumper when he gets overly excited but is learning quickly with proper correction and consistency as he is a smart boy. He needs some help with his leash training but we think with the proper harness and training he could be a wonderful walking/running buddy!
Copper does really well about not having accidents in his kennel here and his previous adopters said he never made a mess in the house.
Cooper is a bit dog selective and will need to meet any dog currently in the home to make sure everyone gets along before the adoption is approved. He is not good with cats so he will need a home without them.
If you think you and Cooper may be a great match please send us an email at hslucascounty@yahoo.com to request an adoption application!
Copper's adoption fee is $75.00. His adoption fee includes his Neuter, Rabies Vaccination, Parvo Distemper and Bordetella (Kennel Cough) Vaccinations, Heart Worm Test, Deworming, and Flea Treatment.
