If you have ever wanted a live teddy bear, here is your chance! Twelve-ish-year-old Cashew was found as a stray in Henderson County. She was in pretty bad shape when found, so it took a couple of months to get her checked out and beautiful again--but is now ready for her forever home.
This sweet little bear is 17 pounds, is mostly deaf and can only partially see. She has cataracts but can see light and shadows. She has a very quiet and calm demeanor, and like many seniors, she likes to nap. Cashew also loves to walk, albeit short ones when it isn't too hot.
Cashew is taking Proin for incontinence, which is why she wears a diaper and pad indoors. While her incontinence is still improving since being on the medication, it's likely she will have to continue to wear a diaper. Her foster mom has figured out the best way to manage her diapers without it being a hassle or taking a lot of additional time--and would be happy to teach her new family.
Fortunately, there has never been a cuter teddy bear in a diaper than little Cashew! She rocks a pastel bottom like no one can.
Cashew is good with other dogs and cats. Though her ideal adopter would have a quiet home, and is looking for a sweet, mild-mannered companion.
Cashew has had a minor eye surgery to remove a mole, had chest x-rays to check for heart issues (none found), and several urinalysis as we figured out how to treat her incontinence.
Cashew has been on a Urinary S/O special diet for the last couple of months, which will likely continue for at least a few more months. To meet Cashew, please complete the app to adopt at epicanimalrescue.org/adopt
