Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tuffy
Home with children over 12
Active family in a single dog home
Fenced yard
Tuffy is currently located in Austin
Say hello to Tuffy! This sweet lapdog is a 10 year-old, 17-pound Terrier/Poodle mix looking for his fur-ever home!
Don’t let his age fool you! Tuffy is young at heart through and through. He is looking for an active family that can dedicate a 30-45 minute walk in the mornings and 1-hour long walk in the evenings. Bonus points if you can throw in some games of fetch in between!
There’s nothing he loves more than his toys. He loves to challenge you to take them away. However, he is also protective of his toys when he doesn’t want to share. He would do best with no kids under 12, and no other dogs in the home.
Tuffy is incredibly smart. He knows a variety of commands (sit, shake, jump, wait, let’s go) He is open to learning a few new tricks as well. He is also crate-trained and will go in willingly; he stays in all night with the door open. Tuffy is used to having a dog door and will happily take himself out if you have one. He is also potty trained and will hold it when needed, but needs to go out at least 4 times a day (morning, noon, evening, and late night).
One of the best things about Tuffy is how communicative he is. He will generally try to let you know what his needs are (usually in the form of asking for some cuddles or lap time). Tuffy loves to sit next to you on the couch and to be taken along for car rides. He is particular with other dogs and will require slow introductions.
Tuffy sheds very little. He is great with showers and will let you wash him thoroughly. He needs to have his teeth brushed regularly.
Tuffy’s adoption fee is $350.00 plus sales tax and he’s HW negative, current on all HW/Flea preventatives, microchipped and neutered. All adoption fees go toward expenses like medical and food for Doodle Dandy Dogs and help make it possible for us to continue giving amazing pups like Tuffy a second chance.
