My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are interested in MISS PIGGY or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here
Please email the completed application to samantha.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached.

Looking for a dog that will light up your life? Then MISS PIGGY is your girl! This goofy gal is great with humans and dogs of all ages and sizes! She is well mannered in the house, has a sunny disposition, and is an all around happy-go-lucky pup. Her idea of bliss is fetching her stuffed toys, going for rides in the 4 wheeler or playing dress up in her favorite costume (she literally drags her lion costume to her mom to put on her daily). This inquisitive girl loves to play with her canine foster siblings and go on adventures with her foster family. She loves other dogs so much, we think she would be happiest in a home with at least one other dog. She is happy and confident in public places and wants to be petted by all she sees. She's never had an accident in the house and is excellent in the crate when her foster family is not home. She is an awesome mix of affection, loyalty, and just plain fun. This beautiful baby has stolen the heart of everyone who has met her and is sure to capture yours too!

MISS PIGGY is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations.
Her $490 adoption fee includes her interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the Midwest after she is officially adopted.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport.

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
