Sparks has been with us for a very long time and her fosters have been doing a great job with taking care of her, but it's time that she find her forever home where she can continue to trust and grow. We have no idea what kind of life she lived prior to rescue, but whatever it was left her traumatized and unable to trust humans and she is still struggling to this day to understand that we are not going to hurt her. She is crate trained and LOVES other dogs, but is not leash trained so is not able to go out for walks because the leash causes her so much anxiety, but she is pee pad trained.
We know that it may be difficult to find the unicorn person that can understand Sparks Feral temperament, but we believe that every dog will find their person and we know that he/she is out there. Sparks needs a quiet home, with someone that lives a calm and quiet lifestyle that has another small dog. Sparks does have a bite history due to her extreme fears so this person needs to be extra patient, caring and understanding.
If you are not ready to adopt just yet and would like to help in other ways, please consider clicking on the green “Sponsor Me” button above to help this dog receive the best care we can give. We rely on the generosity of others to make rescuing dogs possible.

Sparks, a Encino Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Encino, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Encino.
Rescues and shelter volunteers in Encino already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Encino breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Encino paves the way for another one to be saved.
