About Murray: I’m a shy boy but I am learning to trust. I have beautiful gold eyes and big soft ears that I love to have scratched. I am the cautious one in my little family and need other confident kittens or an adult cat(s) around for me to gain my confidence. I watch them to learn if it's ok to trust you. It's very important for me to have that dynamic. I’m food motivated so with a little patience I will learn that you are a positive thing for me. Then I’ll let you pet me and love me before and after meals, and eventually I will come for belly rubs if the other cats are getting loves too. I would do really d well with an older adult cat that is very nurturing and cuddly. I like to cuddle with them. I like to play and run all around the house. I really like my cat tree where I can be up high and watch what's going on below. I do not like to be picked up and held yet but am showing signs that I will eventually tolerate it for short periods. (Please be aware, some cats do not like to be held or picked up regardless of their upbringing. A cat is a cat and that is that.) I would do best with someone who has experience with shy cats and understand I just need some time and patience. My foster mom gives me lots of love when I ask for it now and she understands that sometimes I really just wanna do my own thing. If you have a quiet home with room for more than one cat I will grow into a very loving and loyal friend. I have been around a doggie. Honestly, not my favorite thing. This doggie isn't very big and he doesn't chase me so I keep an eye on him, growl a little when he gets too close. Other than that I think I can learn to tolerate him. Murray has been neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FIV/FeLV and has received age appropriate vaccinations. (His brothers are Alex and Bruno.)

Please understand, Companion Cats is made up of volunteers. Arrangements will need to be made to view our adoptable cats and kittens in person. More about this shelter

Companion Cats is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up of volunteers. Our mission is to spay or neuter and find suitable homes for unowned cats, thus ending the suffering of abandoned and homeless cats living on the streets.

Once spayed our goal is to place them in an environment that best fits each cat. This method provides the most humane living situation possible. Both friendly and feral alike deserve the perfect forever home. If the cat is not very friendly but is homeless, perhaps this means being a “Barn Buddy” or being introduced into a controlled colony. If feral kittens are found, it might mean living in a volunteer foster home where they can be socialized until old enough to be tested for FIV & FeLV, spayed, microchipped and vaccinated prior to adoption
