My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, nice to meet you, my name is Sarabi,

When I traveled from Puerto Rico to New Hampshire, it was such a long trip, but I’m hopeful it will all have been worth it when I find just the right family to be with.
I have been in and out of shelters for most of my life and I’m only 2.5 years old and I weight approx. 76lbs.

Toys are probably the best thing ever invented! I love to see how many I can carry in my mouth at once, so far, my record is 4! If you want someone to go for long walks, and adventures through the woods, I’m your girl. The staff at Fast Friends say that I have a great nose that could probably sniff out a T-rex bone 3,000 feet below the ground. I’m pretty sure they are right.

My manners on a leash have improved throughout my stay here, and I would love to show you how well I behave for the right motivation (yummy dog treats).
If you are thinking about adding a new furry family member to your home, please consider me for that position, I promise I’m up for it!

Sarabi would do best in a low to moderate activity level home.

* Fast Friends adopts in the New England area. If you are interested in Sarabi or one of our other available dogs, please complete an adoption application at www.helpinggreyhounds.org/adopt

More about this rescue

Fast Friends is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to educating the public about Greyhounds and sighthounds from around the world with the primary goal of finding responsible, loving homes for them. Fast Friends envisions a world where no Greyhound or sighthound lacks for a loving home and these breeds are valued and celebrated for their uniqueness.

Fast Friends works closely with both international and domestic partners to bring retired racing Greyhounds and other sighthounds in need from countries where they have almost no chance of a local adoption to its facility in Swanzey, New Hampshire. Each dog receives high quality care with a focus on one-on-one staff time and individualized plans to help them overcome any neglect or trauma they have experienced so that they can be successful in a home. We are dedicated to taking in dogs with the most challenging circumstances.
