My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

6/18/13 -I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

ADOPTION FEE: $250

Fostered in North Carolina

Age: 8 years

Weight: 8 lbs.

1/23/12: Mickey is doing well but still very skittish. He does not like children but does well in a quiet environment. He appears to like women better than men. Cuddles on the couch are his favorite activity!

9/6/11 - Mickey continues to improve. He will cuddle on the couch during movie time and will stand still for petting. He is still afraid of children and strangers. He is a good boy during grooming and loves to have a bath.

8/3/10 - Mickey is doing very well! He has come out of his shell and will ask for hugs and belly rubs. He enjoys movie time where everyone settles down on the couch and watches TV. Sudden moves will still startle him but not as bad since he's learning that hands are for petting, not for hitting. He's a precious boy!

2/15/10 - Wow, I got to play in the snow this weekend and it was FUN!! Foster mom and dad built a snowman in the back yard and all us pups got to help! I’m having a great time here, but I’d really like a forever home of my own. I’m a great little guy – I eat well and love my crate, I sleep all night and rarely bark. I finally understand that it’s OK to jump on the couch if I’m invited. I love hugs and kisses and belly rubs! I’m even a good boy during my bath and grooming!! The only thing I don’t like is children – not sure why but that’s the way it is. I also love to chase birds and squirrels so when you take me out for a walk, keep a tight grip on the leash! Foster mom is working with me on that, though. I know my forever home is out there somewhere! I’m waiting for you!! Love, Mickey.

1/13/10 - Mickey is learning what life inside is all about! He had a good Christmas and New Year’s! He’s learning to eat off a plate (but sometimes those big brown eyes melt Foster Mom’s heart and she feeds him by hand….but just a few bites). He sleeps through the night in his crate and will go there to take an afternoon nap. He’s still not comfortable coming into the living room to join everyone for movie time, but we’re working on that. He loves tummy rubs and cuddles, and likes to chase Foster Dad around the kitchen. He had his dental yesterday and of his six teeth, the vet had to pull three. Mickey is a sweet boy who just wants a family of his own for the New Year. Is that you?

12/9/09 - Hi, everyone…..I’m the new kid here in Charlotte, NC. My foster mom says my name is Mickey which is great! I don’t know what I was called before but I think it was just a number. Foster mom thinks I was used as a backyard breeding dog and then thrown out when I got older. I’m only 8 years old but I’m not used to being inside a house or walking on a leash or going outside to play in the grass. I sat in something called a kitchen last night and just watched what was going on. We went outside but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a doorway before and I got a little nervous!! Wow, there’s so much to see and learn! I’ve been to the vet and been neutered and had all my shots. Foster mom thought I didn’t have any teeth but she found three in the back that need to be checked out. I just need time to learn some basics so I can make that perfect family a wonderful furever dog! Could that be you?
