My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This friendly guy is Bugz and he is a 6-7 year old Black Lab mix who weighs just under 60 pounds. Bugz was surrendered to us by his owner because she had some very sudden health issues come up and she was unable to properly care for Bugz anymore.

You may recognize Bugz as the dog we were raising funds for to have surgery to remove a tumor from his side and to send it to a Pathologist to see if it is cancerous. We are happy to say we had many generous donations and raised enough for the surgery, sent the tumor to a Pathologist and Bugz does not have cancer! His tumor was a benign lipoma which is essentially a fatty tumor. It may grow back but there is no cause to worry!

Bugz loves people and knows no stranger and he even enjoyed going to the Vet so he could visit all the people! He also loves being pet but his most favorite thing in the world is a good belly rub and he would be content to have one for hours on end!
Bugz may be getting a bit gray in the face but his looks by no means match his activity level as he enjoys running in the yard and chasing balls! He isn't much for retrieving as it's all about the chase for him.
Bugz knows how to sit, shake, and laydown and will happily do any (or all!) of this commands for a treat as he loves food! He takes treats gently or if you throw them he will catch them midair almost every time.

Bugz was completely house and kennel trained in his previous home and does really well with not having accidents in his kennel here. He does need a little help with his leash training as he does pull a bit. He is a very smart dog and we are confident he would pick it up quickly with patience and consistency.
Bug's previous owner also said he is good with other dogs and cats but we have not had a chance to test this and will do so as soon as we can. He has not been around many children but we believe that he would do well with children 8 and older as he does tend to jump a bit when he gets really excited.

Bugz will make a wonderful addition to a family with some room for him to run and someone to give him belly rubs is a requirement! :)

Bugz's adoption fee is $75.00.
