Silas LOVES other dogs so we require a home with a resident dog.

Silas was surrendered to the shelter because his parents got separated. His male owner actually worked in an animal shelter previously, and realized that when his ex-moved out there was no way for Silas to get the exercise and attention he needed.
He reported the following about Silas:
- Overall Silas is a “really good dog”
- Other animals: Silas lived with another dog and they got along great. lived with 2 cats and did well
- Very silly and playful
- Loved to cuddle
- Would either sleep in bed or next to the bed
- Did wonderful with the kids – they used him as pillow!
- Would bark if someone came to the door, but was quiet otherwise.
- Really loves food to the point he will eat until he makes himself sick if you let him.
- Only behavior concern was he would sometimes growl if other animals approached his bowl while eating, but never any reactions to people or children approaching and never any altercations with other animals over food.
Temperament at Shelter
When Silas first came to the shelter, he was terrified. We had zero history on him at the time because he came in through Animal Control, and we really did not know what to make of him or how things were going to go. However, with time, Silas let his true colors show and made everyone fall in love! A bit about Silas:
- One of our Dog Team Members is slightly obsessed with Silas and is often found cuddling with him, talking about him, or posting pictures with things like this written, “I swear I would adopt Silas if I didn't have 3 dogs. I love him so much He gives the best cuddles, would cheer anyone up on a rainy day. ”
- He is very active – loves to go for walks, play in the yard, and run up and down the agility equipment.
- He has a very important job at the shelter as our official dog tester!
- He loves interactive play where he gets to run and play with dogs and people!
- As much as he loves to play, he is also an excellent snuggle buddy!
- Silas does love his food and eats at an alarmingly fast rate! We have never had any resource guarding issues with people, and do not feed him around other animals.
